Some of the most important connections to a destination’s cultural offerings happen before a visitor even steps into a museum, theater or festival. They start in the in-between moments: a conversation with a travel adviser, a recommendation from a hotel front desk or a quick tip from a driver.

When guidance comes from a local expert, the experience instantly feels more personal, credible and memorable. This concept led United Arts of Central Florida to develop the Cultural Concierge Course—a training program designed specifically for travel and hospitality professionals who want to connect guests with the creative canvas of our region.

The course is a self-paced, online learning experience that helps participants match visitors to the experiences that they’ll enjoy the most. It equips them with knowledge about local cultural destinations and shows how to make use of practical informational tools available—including the portal ArtsinOrlando.com. And it identifies visitor personas to better make tailored recommendations.

Through three dynamic training modules, participants explore Central Florida’s cultural landscape and learn how to engage with local artists, venues and cultural destinations to elevate their guests’ stay. The course also highlights the economic and community impact of cultural tourism—reinforcing why culture is not an add-on but a core part of a world-class visitor experience.

What makes this course especially exciting is its focus on connection. It strengthens the bridge between the hospitality industry and the cultural sector, helping professionals in traveler-facing roles to see themselves as ambassadors. That’s because cultural tourism does not start at a local show, gallery or historical landmark. It starts with a conversation.

The launch of the Cultural Concierge Course reflects United Arts’ ongoing commitment to expand education and reach within the tourism industry. It’s an investment to boost audiences for the cultural sector, from venues to itinerant arts organizations and individual artists.

And ultimately, it’s meant to introduce visitors to what makes Central Florida so authentic and unique. The Cultural Tourism Initiative is a partnership between United Arts and Visit Orlando. Visit Learn.ArtsinOrlando.com for more information.
